I have a couple of question. I have noticed that when I made an attempt to view my site it took a long time to render. I came to the conclusion that it was my browser Temporary Internet files. Now that I have cleaned them out the site renders fine.

Could this be the setting that I have Choosen in the module-wide Cache? Because I can't expect my users to go through this process. I am open for any suggestions.

I have a most modules set to 30 seconds with the gallery set to 1 week becuase it is so large.

Currently my XOOPS is set up www.sk8photos.com/xoop/html/index.php

Therefore I have to forward my index.php to the before mentioned url.

Can I just move all files to the root directory to correct this problem? To make the path be www.sk8photos.com/index.php with the index file being the XOOPS index file.

Re: Module-Wide Cache

Have you checked out your host? I always make sure my host has a good reputation on www.webhostingtalk.com

I can tell you your site does load slow. I am right outside of Washington DC and I have a very fast FiOS internet connection thru Verizon.

The big flash file on the front of the site is not helping. I can also confirm that it is not only on the pages with pictures. It seems to be site wide for me atm.

Yes you should move your file's into the public_html folder on a linux server or the home folder on a windows server.

All you half to do is correct your mainfile.php for the new location of the files.

Also any hard links that you have posted to the site will need to be updated to the new url.

Do make backups of the backups before you attempt to move the site.

Sorry for my bad english...

I think there is something wrong on your site.

If you look the html code you can see lot of \ (more than 60Ko )
If i remember, there is function to add and substract \ when you update or select data in SQL. Then if you have lot of \ on a data, there is a function to substract and this take a time.
And you take time because the data is great too...

Look your site description on admin panel :
Preferences Main »» Meta Tags and Footer
and Meta Description.

You cannot find the database? Can you explain?

I found this post about getting a backup off godaddy.

Godaddy MySQL Backup

Have you found a new host yet?
