redirecting user.php

I use a customized theme and the user login block is hidden

when i have to login i have to go to user.php


the problem is now after i login in user.php it is not redirecting me to the page where i was before
i login instead it is redirecting me to main page of my site

is there any fix

you will only be redirected to the page you were on if you were redirected to the user.php page not if you just load the url ...user.php
