Hi everyone, total XOOPS newbie here!

Just checking out this XOOPS malarky and was wondering if you guys would like to suggest some modules and approaches for building a site i have in mind.

The site i am requiring to build is basically for an industry based association to promote an industry as a whole.

It would require:-

General Home Page and "about the organization" type pages

News page

And...

A section which lists its members, probably about 300 different companies!!!

Each company would have it's own page with general contact details, info, and outbound links to their own websites.

Also, content maybe managed by a select few but may give over some control to the companies themselves.

If anyone can suggest the appropriate modules to acheive such a site i'd be very grateful. Had an excellent experience with the OSCommerce community last year and hope to find such a helpful and informative community here!

SmartSection----- for content on your site
SmartPartner----- for member organisations and links to their sites

Then go to http://xoops.instant-zero.com/ for the News 1.53 module. There's nothing better for News (IMHO)

If you want Forums for discussion then take a look at either newbbex on the instant-Zero site or CBB 3.08 on this site's Dev Forge.

welcome any other suggestions, i'm still at the research stage like. Gonna sniff out some info on how to mod design and that, again, any good links anyone please pass them on!!
