Need help for 2.0.13 hack

I would like to make a hack in templating system that will work this way: if a template with name like the name of selected theme exist in database, that template to be used.

Could someone give me some clues/knowhow on that ?

PS: Yes, I know about template override in 2.0.14+, but it works in different way and is not what I need ...
