xoops_session table is empty

What script populates the xoops_session table? After an upgrade from 2.0.13 -> 16 the table is empty. Thanks

There is fix in kernal/session.php, Session's stored longer then needed for when a user is on the site.
That same fix also works in 2.2.5rc2 and repairs the length of time if a custom session is used; for when people come and go off the site.

Seems that kernel/session.php its not been accessed, also I did not found the fix, can you point me to it?

Found the problem:

in php.ini I had: session.auto_start=1
changed to "0" and xoops_session started to populate.
