I am currently running 2.0.16; my 'Who's Online' shows a count of members and guests...just like this site does.

However, I have seen other XOOPS=based sites show members, guests...and what module the visitors are currently "in"...
like dev.xoops.org does.

Are there different flavors of the Who's Online block?
...or is this an option?

I would like to show (or, at least, like to know) where my visitors are going.

Thanks

Clicking on the more in the online box brings up a popup window showing where they are and their ip address if you have that feature turned on and you are logged in as administrator. [Module config options - Show user IP]

I have added a free Bravenet counter whichs, again if you are logged in to bravenet shows you where your visitor is from and the search engine that bought them there along with the search criteria they used. OR the referring website. see bravenet.com

This is very helpful for fine-tuning your site for the search results you wish to obtain.

Thanks, blue... but that's the issue...

logged in as admin..clicking more shows the IP of all Guests...but not where they are.

What 'feature turned on' are you referring to?

Admin. navigate to [Module config options] then down the list to [Show user IP] << this is the option to turn on.

Thanks... when I click on "More" of Who's Online on your site...there are two columns...

on my site...there is only one.

I'm going to feel real dumb if it just a setting...but I can't see where you would specify any options for Who's Online.

Above shows the line that you will nagivate to handle the ip display off and on.

I think you may need to resize your pop up window. I can make mine show only one column by resizing the window.

Hopefully that is all it is...

Thanks... I do see the Guest IPs when logged in as webmaster, but, even resizing the popup, I only see the IP...not where they are.

I agree with BlueStocking, your site's URL would be most helpful.

When you click on the "more" link, you should only be given what module the user is visiting. It will not tell you the exact URL they are viewing. If you are not getting this much information, then something is wrong with your installation or configuration.

If you *really* want deatailed info on users browsing your site, I would suggest the User Visit module. The positive side is that you will know who is doing what where and the URL they are viewing. The downside is that it adds to load time and requires a small bit of core hacking.

HTH.

Update...

Well, now...this is going to be a needle in a haystack, I fear.

I have a sister site, for testing...same theme, most of the same modules...but on a different host.

That one...shows the expected 2-column list when invoking "More" from the Who's Online Block... showing all the Guests as anonymous and what module they are playing in...when viewed as a Webmaster, you see the IP as well.

Back on the site in question...no matter what...it is only one column, with the names or IPs...no second column for module activity.

Since the "common difference" is 2 different servers....could it be a php.ini setting? I hate to have to do (another) side by side...I fought that one for the SMF Bridge.

Can someone far more learned that me take a quick look at misc.php (2.0.16) and see if there is anything obvious that should be checked in php.ini on the site's server?
