Since yesterday i am using a new theme, called LunarNewYear. The width is 850 px and that seems working fine. Buw when using the forum (=newbb) and clicking on a topic, the forum streched out en under the header the site is to wide. How can i fix this so that everything will work within these 850 px?

For your info: My problem comes up only in IE. Firefox have no problems.

Example (Please use IE)

You'll be happy to know it works in IE7.

IE6 does not render HTML in a standard way. Many templates and themes have a work-around built in to take care of this.

I don't remember the exact fix, since it has been so long that I have had to fool with IE6 work-arounds. If you search here on something like "IE6 problems" you should be able to find the solution.

You'll need to make changes in the newbb theme or style.css. That's the problem with fixed width themes....

Well I already put a possible answer at XOOPS.nl but just for the record. In resolution I'using with Firefox you also have a problem.

In newbb is a class called 'outer'. In that wide is set to 100%. I think you have to make a change in your stylesheet in the class outer. in Stead of 100% you have set a fixed wide in px.

Yes, I see now that your body stretches out from your header size, even in IE7.

Changing the template for Newbb would certainly be a fix.

But, have you considered changing to CBB? Is there any particular reason you are sticking with Newbb when most Xoopsters have moved to the CBB branch? I know there are valid reasons for staying with Newbb, but you might try CBB which (I believe) does a somewhat more efficient job with template design.

I usually try out 10-20 XOOPS templates in a month, fixed width and variable widths, and have never had a problem with CBB in any of them.
