How to make a theme load faster?

Hi,
Im trying out a new theme on my site, but the first time it loads in the browser is very slow. Is there any easy way to speed this up? My old theme was no problem.

~Also you can look at my Dev in this forum on using a .js file for fast html rendering...it appears that html items included with a .js file load faster....then if in html.
