News link doesn't appear for anonymous users on website with www prefix

Hello,

I have a website up at http://www.kelvin-lew.com

However, the news link (I renamed it to articles) on main menu doesn't appear if I access the site with www prefix and anonymous.

It only appears when I access it at http://kelvin-lew.com

I have a test site on http://www.kelvin-lew.com/testxoops with the exact same stuff but it appears regardless of the www prefix.

How do I fix this without redirecting it by using .htaccess?

When I click on a news category, I get a permission denied error. This seems to say that it's a permission problem.

Give read permission to the news module to the Anonymous group and you should see the menu item.

Ah hah, it was a problem with the module access rights under system->groups->anonymous.

The anonymous group did not have access to the abovementioned module.

I make this mistake every time I add a new block or module to my site. I've been using XOOPS for over 2 years and I still have trouble with this.

Of course, it works when you're logged in as admin, but then you go and show your work to someone else who is an anon user, and they say "hey, I don't see it."

I wish that there was a preferences switch that controlled default permissions for new modules and blocks.
