Is there a module with which I can substitute the Private Message?

If not it should be.

I'd like it with a little more flexibility: forward function and carbon copy capacity for a start.

Well xIPB comes with a banging PM system that completely substitutes the default one.

Very nice IMO. However you would have to use xIPB forums instead of cbb.

Can you tell some more details about it, as I am in the process of implementing some forum hacks into a (slightly) revised PM module ...
as you can read here.

and due to a bad lake of time will be glad to wait for this module ...
what features will be out there (html enable? CC? Forward? Capicity? PopUp on new? )
Will it be for the 2.2.x series too ?

Not just yet as i'm on the way to work - but if you go to Frxoops (or use the firefox search ) look for Venom (the author of the module)

You know almost as much as I do

Use babelfish for the translation, as it will give a rough idea - but I think the author has a demo site up... the current version involves a few hacks, but the next/final release should be less hacks involved.

(Don't forget it is replacing an element of core-code... so until this is turned into a stand-alone module... hacks will be needed to access this)

AFAIK, "MP Manager" is not a replacement for sending PM.
It just manages PMs: delete unread messages, delete messages older than X days, and so on...

plus it has features for sending to mutiple users etc...
