I have one original site that I would like to spawn off, using a subdomain, and I want to use xoops, but I don't want users to re-register.

Here is was what I have:
2 Sites, 2 databases...

What I want:
Users to use same login for each site. If you register on either one, it will still allow you to login to the other.

Databases are on the same localhost so calling is easy. What do I need to do, change some core files? Alot of core files? I am going through it this weekend to do some tests.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Might be a good time to get your head around the new authentication system.
Urging XOOPS to be the Best It Can Be.

Hey, I am also interested in doing this, I currently have my main site running 2.0.13.2 and I have installed 2.0.15 as a subdomain as an add on to the main site, how could i get users logged into both sites? I have been reading a bit about LDAP didnt really understand much though, is this type of thing possible without hacking core files?

Thanks

New authentication system. I'm not sure that's going to help. I read through the docs, I won't have different servers, just 2 different databases... Still looking. Multi-site for the older versions of XOOPS would work, but I upgraded...

I have the XOOPS 2.0.15 (released 2006/08/25) version... I have read many posts for Multisites, etc.

I would like to pull user information only from DB1 for login use on Site1 and Site2, with Site2 being independent but on the same localhost. Possible? That may be more clearer than my previous post.
