General Settings question - 'Check templates for modifications'

I checked 'Yes' for 'Check templates for modifications' in general settings and the site seems to be working fine. I would prefer that mode as I am currently making theme adjustments regularly, while the site is productive.

Will a problem develop if left in this mode? Is there an advantage when 'No' is checked?

The only problem with leaving that setting as "Yes" is that it will use more resources (CPU+RAM+I/O).

Whether that's an issue for you depends on how busy your server is.

I'd suggest leaving it off when you have finished with changes
