I would like to request a simple module which could be used to generate a PDF tax invoice.

y'll find quite a few good SW out there by making an indepth search.
Most of these software are paid. Reason is simple n obvious.
Very few others are GPL /GNU

This one http://www.citrusdb.org is pretty excellent.
for free- you can do much with it.

It is not a XOOPS module and you will need to have a little extra knowledge with MySQL on how to install it.
