Hello people, I'm new in here, and I've just discovered XOOPS yesterday and it looks very nice!

I installed XOOPS (Version 2.0.13.2) yesterday, the reason I didn't install the new version is because I didn't know how to install it!
In the instructions it said to copy the HTML folder but in the newest version there is no HTML folder! only in version 2.0.13.2 there is - and unfortunately, only later I saw the newet version has HTDOCS folder which is the one should be copied

Anyway, I hope version 2.0.13.2 is ok too

This is the problem that I have - the installation went ok with no problem, but when I'm clicking on the "Administration Menu" I'm getting a page where it says:

This is your first time to enter the administration section. Press the button below to proceed.

But there is no button to click on!!

Can anyone tell me what is the problem?!

I tried reading FAQ and I run a search and saw another topic which describes a kinda same situation I have but no, none of them is good for me

I be glad if anyone could let me know how to solve this problem

Since if i understand it correctly this is a completely fresh installation i would just install 2.0.14 instead.

With 2.0.14 there comes a script to verify that the files are intact.

Hello Bender

Well, if that's the only suggestion I'll do it - just one problem

It took me so many hours to copy all the files to my Free Webhosting (Awardspace.com) - I did it one by one, one file after another and also created directories - it was so frustrating!

Is there a short way to copy all the files (and directories) to my free web-hosting site?!

I'm using the File manager provided by Awardspace.com and it can only upload 3 files at once, not more than that, and I really don't want to repeat myself doing the same copying again -

so is there a short way to copy all the files?

And of course, if there's other suggestion besides using the newest version how to solve the problem - please let me know

Thank you!

Arie

You are kidding me right? You did not really upload 1086 files in batches of 3. How many hours did that take?

(sorry )

Really i just checked that hosting offer and of course you have ftp access. So you can easily transfer files by ftp.

All you need is an ftp client (Filezilla, SmartFtp ... there are many out there) and than you can upload the files in explorer style.

All you need is the ftp account information from your webhost. DonĀ“t know if they sent them to you by mail or if you can manage them through the web control panel of your package.

[Edit]And here is the faq from your hoster including ftp information:

Hi Bender

Well, that's what I did, really :/

Thanks for letting me know on this quick system, I'm not familiar with FTP so I hope I won't get a problem uploading files :/

By the way, I forgot to mention that and I think that's important too
When I copied the files - there is one directory "Class" - and in this directory
I noticed there is a directory called "Xoopsforms"

And AwardSpace doesn't let you create a directory contains the word "Form" - so it made me a problem copying this directory (which is in the "Class" directory") - and I put all the files of the "XoopsForms" directory in the "Class" directory, but it made me feel uncomfortable....

:/

Do you know what can I do about it? can I create a directory with the name "XoopF0rms" instead? would it work?

And perhaps that's what caused my blank page on the Administration Menu?

And if I use FTP should this directory be created?!

Sorry for all my questions, hope you can help me!

Thanks!
