unable to get debugging on. tried recovery.php. blank white page.

how i got here...
needlessly fiddling around with my FTP client. wrecked some files by mistake. no problem. i keep backups. i upload my backup and get a white page. i suspect my db. i drop the database and use yahscrews on-line restore tool. (couldn't get phpmyadmin to upload the big ass text file) so now i have good db and good files but no website. ugh.

any thoughts?

If you want to set your debug_mode to php debug, try going into the database, look for the table 'config' click browse, scroll down to debug_mode if your debug is not on you will see a value of

a:1:{i:0;s:1:"0";}

change it to

a:1:{i:0;s:1:"1";}

that should give you php debug on.

i seemed to have several problems and after changing my physical and virtual paths in mainfile.php to what they should have been and your suggestion got debug on all is well on my little site again. thanks.
