Help: Guestbook spammed to bits....

I run Livre D'or 2.22 guestbook and recently ive been spammed to hell and back by adds for gaming sites and various penis pills and what have we....

Of course im moderating the guestook, so no false entries are ever seen... but its getting really annoying having to manually remove 25 stoopid messages daily..

Any ideas?

Upgrade to the latest version 2.40.
This version has a verification code which have to be confirmed by posters.

A better way is to rename the file sign.php.
You also have to rename it in the files include/form_sign.inc.php (line 32) and templates/xfguestbook_index.html (line 9).

I had the same problem, lot of spam.
Even the verification code didn't stop it.
Since I renamed the file sign.php I'm spam-free. It's confusing the bots.

Please note that the verification code doesn't work in combination with the module Protector. This will be solved in the next version, hopefully.

I changed the files yesterday afternoon (after having gotten 80+ spam messages in the guestbook in half a day LOL)

And so far - NO spam at all! YAY!
