I am running XOOPS v2.0.9.2 on SME Server 6.0.1; MySQL is Ver 12.22 Distrib 4.0.21, for pc-linux (i686)"; and PHP v4.3.10.

I would like to upgrade XOOPS to the current release, 2.2.3. I have searched the forums and I still have questions.

1. Is my current server setup sufficient for v2.2.3?

2. Is it best to install all of the 20 or so upgrades, each in turn?

3. Can I create new installation of the v2.2.3, and will it update the database automatically? That is, will it preserve the data and make the necessary structural changes?

TIA,

- Mophilly

Hi Mophilly,

If you don't really need to upgrade to 2.2.3, I'd suggest waiting until 2.3 is released. In my opinion (and others), 2.2.3 is quite buggy and not all modules are compatible.

The roadmap for 2.3/2.4 is http://devteam.xoops.org/devlog/archives/8-XOOPS-2.32.4-roadmap.html.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the replies, msdana and Lance_.

I will upgrade to 2.0.13.2 and then wait for the v2.3 release.

But, one more thing...

Are the updates cumulative?

Do I need run each update from 2.0.9.10 to .13

Or...

Will just running the .13 include all the changes in the previous updaters?

TIA,

- Mophilly

Backup first.

Then upload the Full Package of 2.0.13.2, except your mainfile.php.

Update the System module.

No need for incremental updates, there have been no DB changes since 2.0.9
