As I descried elsewhere, I would like to adapt smartsection to make it a reviewing module.

The reviews of users will be the comments feature of smartsection.

How is it possible to do so that the users can search in the "articles" part of smartsection, but also in the comments added by users.

This question might be useful to all the modules in fact ...

I think that would require modifying the module's search code to also search comments.

Here's a reference on how the module search feature is implemented: http://dev.xoops.org/modules/phpwiki/index.php/SearchFunction

You would probably want to search the comments using the kernel comment class, rather than using explicit database queries.
