Hey guys/girls,

For all of yous out there that are having trouble installing etc, if you are after a clean install,

Go into Cpanel, >>

Click Fantastico >>

And on the menu uit will have a WHOLE range of CMS's, >>

Click Xoops, thats it, DONE, it creates the DB EEEVVVEEERRRYYYTTHHHIIINNNGGG!

That's fine if it works for you.

But Cpanel/Fantastico has been known to set up XOOPS improperly, e.g. failing to set directory permissions correctly. It also might not install the desired version.

And if you learn how to install XOOPS manually, you're in a better position to know how to perform maintenance and upgrades.

Yes, I agree..

Fantastico is mostly for newbies, actully, when I discoverd it, I installed it by there, and it installed a later version with modules etc..

But manulle is better, I agree....
