I have searched for an answer to this but have had no luck thus far.

I have copied my XOOPS files and databse to a new server and updated the mainfile.pgp to reflect the new rootpath. XOOPS displays exactly as it did on the old server. I can browse the forum and gallery modules just fine, just like before. This indicates to me that XOOPS is connectin to the databse and finding the files that it needs to operate in this new server.

Here's the problem, if I log in as a user, I get a blank screen. After loging in, I can add /admin.php to the url and access all of the admin features just like before. If instead I put a module such as /xoopsgallery I get a blank screen.

Any ideas why htis might be happening. Any help would be very appreciated.

Thanks.

Clear your template_c and cache folders, some older files may still be there.

Apparently, I failed to make the templates_c, uploads and cache directories and the mainfile.php world writeable.

Making that change fixes the problem. Thanks for the help.

Well actually you do not want mainfile.php world writable, (only for setup) chmod it to 444 and your settings will be safe.
