Is there a module that allows a user to leave a comment on someones profile without leaving the comment on a picture they have posted? Regards,

Yes there are a few i believe. I know one of them is Xtremguestbook. It allows all of your users to have their own guestbook. You can find it HERE

I'm having some real trouble configuring this guestbook for the profile? Do you know how? I have it installed and it's on the menu options but when you click guestbook it just takes you to a blank page called sign.php

you need to set the permissions so that we can see.

I am not sure what you mean by that. You can see the guestbook if you log in? Or do you mean change the permissions as in 777, etc.... Please advise.

Ok i installed every guestbook module I can find on a test site. To be honest with you, they all fall short. Many of the guestbooks lack the features they were posted as having. I also took the time to read through all of the support on each one. The xtremguestbook v1.3 is by far the nicest looking guestbook. However it is global. The other version of this module which is the one that i gave you to begin with is a mod from exoops. the developer is apparently trying to resolve the issues though

In my browsing i did stumble across this

I know its not what you were looking for exactly but they are neat modules. The top module is called friendfinder and its pretty neat. The bottom link goes to a module called user points. This module gives you options to set values for actions like forum post and comments. then multiplies that action by a variable you define. It then displays a linst of the most active members.

I'm sorry that I couldnt answer your original question, but i hope you like the suggestions i did make.

Hey, i think that with a very little hacking you can add XOOPS comments - like as to others modules - to the user profiles, in 2.2.x (I don't have the time for seriously look at it now).

Take a look at the dev wiki for more hints.

Ya good idea banned. That sounds like the ideal guestbook. You could even go as far as to include notifications so that users would know when their guestbook has been signed.

However you would need a profiles module to start with... I just tried this with the core userinfo, and returned about 765 errors
