Logging IP addresses

I was hoping someone could help me out. I am not sure how to log a user's IP address. I know where the feature is to ban a certain IP address, but how do I find out the IP address of a particular user? Thanks in advance!

Nobody can help me with this? If it's too much to type out, could someone at least point me in the direction to start? I can probably figure out the rest if I know where to begin looking. Thanks!
