Hi everybody,
I recently updated my XOOPS and now nothing functions as it used to be. I can't login as an admin (I get a white page when I try to login as an admin!) My question is:
Can I install the latest version of XOOPS and then replace the old mainfile.php and get everything back as it was?

How do I fix my Xoops...Please help me out

You have been around such long time that you should know we need more details to answer this question (about getting back to your previous version).

Same for the blank page issue. Did you do the usual stuff like in the blank page faq, php debug ... ?

Thanks Bender,
Nothing seems to match the problem I'm having...can you give me tips.

I don't recall what version I had..I guess it was 2.0.x

Is this something serious! I have a complete backup of the working XOOPS as well as a backup of the database, what do I need to do to get back to where I was?

You still didn´t say to which version you upgraded. If it´s 2.2.x you can´t just overwrite files you would need to use the downgrade script.

However since you say you still have a backup of database & files i would use that to go back.

I would:

- rename your current XOOPS folder
- create that folder again and upload the files you backed up
- change permissions on folders and mainfile.php as needed
- create a new database
- restore your database backup into the new one
- edit mainfile.php to point to the new database (if needed also new db username/password)

You should be good to go then. Once you are there we can talk about updating again
