Hi,
Although, XOOPS has a very very powerful search engine, I think it is really needed to upgrade it to a newer one. In fact, If we can implant some more features such as searching in certain topics or forums, or adding "And" and "Or" functions, that would be great!

I believe this needs to be created on a module side basis in search.inc.php since from the view of the core you would not have the required information on which structures a specific modules uses.

On the other hand since it might need some kind of interface to allow extending search.inc.php to do this.
