I installed XOOPS from my remote host and everything was fine - I had a site and I had admin access. I added the piCal module and then found out that I needed to upgrade to xoops2. I uploaded all the new files and went through the install wizard. The wizard worked great -- upgraded my database and all the modules.

But now, while I can get my XOOPS site up, I can't get into the admin area. It says I don't have permission. When I read through the installation guide again, it said I should have seen a screen during the install where I set up my superuser name and password.

So my question is: How can I find out what my admin username and password are in the system. The only other option I can think of would be to go through the install again, but when I try to do that it automatically sends me to my site.

Thanks for your help. XOOPS and php are all new to me.

If you know how,

1) Create a new user
2) Edit the xoops_user table ( PHPMyAdmin )
3) Copy and paste the new users password into your admin users password field in the DB

If you use PHPMyAdmin, you can edit the xoops_user table and copy and paste the password from your new user into the admin users password field. Because it's encrypted, the password data will look like a string of characters.

If you do that, you can give your admin the new users password and login.

Thanks -- your post pointed me in the right direction. I found my admin record in the xoops_user table and I could see the username that I set it up under. I had the password right but the wrong username.
