Installing themes

I 've been trying to install some themes from the theme library. I download the one that I want, convert it to a .tar file, upload it into xoops, make it default under preferances and whola nothing....

How do you install and configure themes in xoops?

You are making a common mistake of the difference between themes and templates. See this Faq Page for clarification.

awesome help thanks.... one question though (i may have went through the tutorial fast) do you need to generate the template for each of the themes?

Nope you don't have to generate any templates...
