lost password & username?

Sigh, I installed XOOPS on my website, and don't remember my user name or password.. and didn't set an email.

Am I completely screwed?.. or what can i do?

I am not sure but I guess it will work..


login to you Cpanel or Database and look for the table of users in XOOPS and try to find the username of password for the admin or change the password.

hope it works.. if not if it ia a new site reinstall xoops

I always get a fast reply from other xoopsans.. when ever I need help XOOPS community is there to help, and all its members really rocks ...

I have similar problem,

All of sudden my password is not accepted in my login anymore, and I'm the webmaster. I've been told that I can change the password in th PHPmyadmin. I found the file Xoops_user, but I don't know how can I do the password change?

Please help

Yes, the password is encrypted in the database.

You could try and clear the 'pass' field for your user in xoops_users

click the little pencil icon on the row for your user and edit the 'pass' field

_maybe_ that would allow you to login with a blank password...

alternatively, why not use the forgotten password function on yoursite.com/user.php to email your password to your registered address (or don't you have a registered email address for your profile...)

Create a new user and password.

Use phpMyAdmin to find the new user.

Copy the encrypted password from the new user.

Paste this encrypted password into the admin users password.

Now you can login with the pasted password and be admin.
Urging XOOPS to be the Best It Can Be.

since the password is coded, I copied may other account password in the field and I could login with that password. then I changing the passsword was easy.
