I just reactivated the notifications on my website (xoops 2.0.7.3 / newbb (first final release)) but there's something about it I don't like.

When you take a topic into your notificationlist you get everytime another user writes an answer to that topic a private message / email. That's useless.

Is it possible to just send him ONE notification and then no other for the time the user doesn't visit the page again.

Do you know what i mean !?!?! :-/

That would save both traffic and cpu-power.

Re: Notifications

You mean that we should use the "Notify me once, then disable until I log in again" and remove the "Notify me of all selected updates"?

Exactly that's what I'm looking for. But I'd need it for 2.0.7.3 as I allready said .

Possible?

Re: Notifications

My question is more, whether you want to FORCE this or just have the option? Because the option is already there.

Oh, really? Where can i find that option? Never heard about it :-/

And i don't want to FORCE it but it should be selected by default (after installing the system) with a remark like: "sending a pn / email for each new post while the user is offline causes a lot higher traffic / cpu-load."

After a long time of seaching for it I just found it. But I have to say that a user should not have to decide about that.

Would be better to move that setting to the xoops-presettings.

OK, seems to be a bug anyway:

I've got 3 Users: Test1, Test2, Test3

Test1 takes a Topic into his notification list and logs out
test2 logs in, writes an answer to that topic and logs out
test3 logs in, writes an answer to that topic and logs out
Test1 logs in again

notification method is 1 (PM)

But I can choose mode 0, 1 or 2 without any difference in regard on the result. i allways get 2 pm's

I'm using XOOPS 2.0.7.3. any idea?

WHAT IS IT?
