That is correct.

There will be module packages created when and not until such a time as a good collection of modules have been put together for 2.2.

Right now, quite a few modules need to be updated and then verified before such packages can be officially offered.

No, only the "PM" module and "Extended Profiles" are included right now. Modules (there are a lot) must be downloaded seperately from the Module Repository.

I personly think it's a big mistake that the XOOPS distribution doesn't contain a at least one good content module (like news, WF-Channel, etc.).

There is no need to package other modules with it, when the new module starter packs are assembled.

so... if i want a least of modules already with XOOPS which version do you suggest me to download?

I'm not comletly sure, but I think version 2.0.x is included the standard modules....
...

But the standard modules in the 2.0.x package are pretty much all outdated. I've never used any on my sites.

Click on teh Moduleslink (the spotlight box on main page) are peruse the last modules that have come out. You'll see quite a few available since 2.2. Then do a search and you will get more infos on modules that will work with 2.2.
