In MyLinks->Recent Links, why doesn't the date show?

Why doesn't the date show in the block for Recent Links? I traced down the html file that holds the blok, the code is as follows:


    <{foreach item=link from=$block.links}>
    $k.cid}>&lid=<{$link.id}>"><{$link.title}> (<{$link.date}>)
    <{/foreach}>


Seems simple enough. So why doesn't it work on my site?

The links come out like

Link1 ()
Link2 ()

Instead of

Link1 ( 2005-08-10 ) etc...

I can confirm this on my site as well. I just edited out the date because I really don't care for how cramped it make the lists, but it would be nice if it worked.

Thanks J, ok so I am not crazy. By the way, I needed to remove it anyway, but I want top add it again, not thinking I DELTED it. Little did I know I would never be able to recover it:( Anyone have an idea?
