How to remove Xoops.org news link from admin?

I'm happy with everything else staying put, but I would like to remove the link to Xoops.org news from the admin control panel. I have searched, but can't find any info on editing admin. Can anyone say which file I need to edit and what to change to remove that link?

Edit /include/cp_functions.php and remove this text:

&nbsp;|&nbsp;<a href='".XOOPS_URL."/admin.php?xoopsorgnews=1'>XOOPS News</a>

I thought I would try a custom link there so I replaced
.XOOPS_URL."/admin.php?xoopsorgnews=1'>XOOPS News

with
http://www.mysite.com/mylink">mylink

and got a white screen and couldn't access the admin cp.

You probably introduced a syntax error.
