What is the "Allow Subject Prefix for the Topics" in the newbb module?

I see this option which defaults to "NO" but not sure what it does?

It lets you prefix a subject with "[solved]", "[request]", etc.

Refer to the newbb Preferences page for more information, specifically the settings "Level for groups that can use Prefix" and "Add a Prefix to the Topic Subject".
