What about .htaccess?

I have just discovered that the htaccess file on my server is totally blank. Did Xoop do that when it installed itself on the server? How important is that file, and how can it be generated for my site?

The XOOPS core doesn't create or modify any .htaccess file. It's possible that a third-party module could do so.

There's no need to have an .htaccess file unless you want to specify Apache directives for a particular directory.
