$xoopsDB usage

I am just to write a module and I tried to use $xoopsDB for database connection, but I found out that it would give me an instance of the databaseproxy instead of databasesafe

how do i get around that? thanks.

You get a databaseproxy if you are not using POST to get to the page or if the HTTP REFERER is blocked by a software firewall or similar.
