Lose the submenu in main menu

I have removed the "submit" "tell a friend" etc. from the
downloads template.
Does anyone know what code to modify to remove the submenu: submit, popular, top-rated, in the main menu?

edit the xoops_version.php of the module that is generating the sub menu items and comment out the sub menu lines.

place the following "//" on each line.
