Hello all..please delete my other topic of Sports Module...

The idea is create a Racing Module, this is diferent of a Sports Module for Soccer, Volley...

Look this(from Nuke.ORG):

Quote:
In most individual vs the rest, each championships are made up of discrete grand prix events, and the results for each grand prix are determined by some sort of ladder / timesheet.

So a brief analogy with Formula 1:
sport = racing
league = f1
Divisions = ?
Seasons = 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, etc...
Teams = (Ferrari, McLaren, Williams)
Individuals = (Game = Rounds (Melbourne, Malaysia, Monaco, etc...)
Game Result = Time to complete race.

Each Game or Championship round will have a timesheet as their results (lowest time finishing up the top)
Points are then awarded according to how they finish. This could be applied to marathon running, rowing races, etc....

In events like aerial ski jumping, the winner of the World Cup is the winner of the most world cup points throughout the year, so this would be similar to the F1 analogy, but the winner of each event is the person with the HIGHEST points score (rather than lowest time).

In golf the ladder is determined by number of strokes below par (unless it's a skins match, or some crazy variant where you get 2 points for a birdie, -1 point for a bogey) but each event is separate, there's no greater competition (except for prize money!!!!) but because of the way some events count on multiple tours, this might (will) be a pain.

So the breakdown might be like this:
sport = golf
league = Australian Tour, US Tour, etc, Majors,
Divisions = ?
Seasons = 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, etc...
Teams = (Tiger Woods, Ernie Els, etc...)
Game = (US Open, British Open, USPGA, Masters)
Game Result = TOTAL = round1 score + round 2 score + round3 score + round4 score
round 1 score (if you want to get really deep) = hole 1 score + hole 2 score + .... + hole 18 score.

So after all that, what do I want to see in individual vs the rest League:

1) ability to sort winners by most / least points (world cup skiing / golf) or fastest / slowest time (racing / longest lasting bridge competition?).

2) Championship --> League --> (?Divisions?) --> Seasons --> Individuals --> Teams (OPTIONAL)

3) Customisable points for each round (eg 10 points for a win, 8 for 2nd, etc.... 1 point for Cool

4) Both time (racing) and points (golf, ski jumping) results.

5) Customisable Rounds fields, eg qualifying times, race times, hole 1 ... hole 72 scores.

Exists a NASCAR module for PHPNUKE and is interesting...

Here:

http://nascar.ofxgamer.com/

Module working here:

http://fix.ofxgamer.com/modules.php?name=League_Racing

Is possible to convert this module from PHPNUKE to Xoops?

Best Regards,
JS

Other Topic found in PNSTANDINGS.COM

Rather than restricting it to just Nascar, for any online racing league the following would be useful

individual driver and/or team stats
- number of races in league/wins/podium finishes/poles/number of finishes
- driver bio/photo
- team bio

league can be 'single' division or multiple

season
-x races long & possible have a number of non-points scoring races.

circuit details
-length of circuit/country/fastest lap/link to map/link to results for races at that circuit

results
-driver name/team name/chassis-engine/number of laps completed or distance from winner(in time)
-link to results generated by game engine/3rd party util

points system
-configurable by division/season

An example of the sort of thing can be seen at http/members.rogers.com/cf65/ - no association with me but gives a good sample of the sort of thing I'd like to see.

If you want any further info I'd be happy to help

Stan

yes converting this module would be a good thing for the XOOPS community. I run a website for a SCCA racing team and i want to convert it over to XOOPS and get away from html. For 1 or more obivous reasons that everyone has with html. having a stats module for racing would be good. or just a general stats module that can be used for anything with customizeable options. Like rules time points earned timing etc.

The more recommended person for this job is Mithrandir, he worked in Team Module and League Stats Module...

Please, please...
