Do all thread content of the forum, member profile, FAQ, settings, etc. store in the MySQL database?

I am a beginner of all these. Please help!

Yes mostly anyway. You can view these with phpMyAdmin.

Well if you have a very large amount of content. It is a very efficient way of storing the data. It has to be stored either in a database or files. The database is faster for searching. The files provide faster access. What type of data are you anticipating.

Can I choose to store the treads contents, member profile, etc. in files instead of MySQL?

500000 members, 50000 posts, usually 30000 members online at a time.

I do not believe that XOOPS can handle it without a very powerful server. Theoretically yes practically no. I will probably get some agruments here. Check this forum over there a many threads about server loads. It's the 30000 online at one time that is the problem. The number of users or amount of date is not an issue.
