I have an external tracking code for site statistics (page views, unique vistors, etc.). In order for the code to work properly for each page that you want to track, you need to include the code inside the table and outside the table.

I have cloned the default template set and name it tracking.
I have added in the corresponding code for the section/pages I want to track to all the pages in this set.
(Both inside and outside of the tables on the page)

But the code does not work properly. I keep getting a message that the code is missing.

Is there somewhere else beside these templates that I need to put the code so that it works properly?

I did notice that each module has its own html pages under blocks that correspond to the template pages...are these additional pages that need to be adjusted or are these pages made up from the template pages?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ordinarily, any common script that you want to be included in ALL pages needs to be placed in the theme.html file in your theme folder.

Statistics scripts typically go right at the top, or right at the end, just before the closing tag

This way all pages will be logged.

I really did not understand your method of cloning the default template set etc. I think this may be an error on your part

Carnuke, thanks for the reply, I have already done this, I placed the code in the theme.html...and it does work, but it treats all the pages as one without specific page/section detail. I really want to be able to determine which pages are being viewed. (this is how it is on my site currently- one code on the theme.html)

I thought that placing specific code on the templates would help me track specific pages/sections.

example: generate a headlines code and place it on all the template pages for the headlines section in the new template set cloned from the default and given the name tracking, and then activating this new template set.

This does work, but it does not work on the following three modules

Newbb
Evennews

For some reason, they all return a message saying the code is missing from the page, but the code is present on the templates.
(BTW, these three modules also report that the code is missing when placed on the theme.html)

Based on your post, is adjusting/cloning the templates incorrect?

Since the theme.html is universal across entire site, and is not section specific....where do I place specific tracking code for each section?
Is this possible?

The one I use- phpstats, logs several details about each page viewed in the site. IT can also log click-thus: which gives some indication of the route any visitor traverses the site. How else do you tell which section of a page is being viewed, unless there is a click(s) in that section? All that is recorded without any special changes. Just one snippet of javascript in theme.html

I can't see how you can derive extra information from tracking individual template sets.
