NewBB2 is loading to slow...

Since i have installed Newbb2, the forum seems to be loading much slower than the previous version. Does anyone have the same problem and what to do about it?

Also is the notification method not working, when a member is asking to be notified by mail he does not receive any mail at all.

All help is welcome.

newbb2 is a bit slower than newbb1 because it has many features and it is more user-friendly module. my users are very appreciated in it.
anyway you can read this amazing article in it-hq about comparison between newbb1 and newbb 2

I have to disagree irmtfan, it's not a bit slower. It seems to be a lot slower. It's a great module though, but I have to say my internetconnection freezes sometimes on newbb 2. So I hope there will be some fixes for this in the future. In the mean I will keep on using this great module of course.

I always get chills when I see the close to ~200 elements downloading every time a newbb2 page is loaded or refreshed.

You call this slow? Don't be kidding. It loads as fast as if it was on my computer. I really don't see any problem with speed of your forum.

Maybe you should speed up your connection to ISP. Like Lance_ wrote, Newbb2 has a lot of elements to load. With dial-up connections it's pain in the ass. It's the same problem with overseas servers with long ping time. Partial solution for this is turning off Fast reply. Forum feels a little bit faster, but this is just because there is less data to transfer.

Frankly,newbb2 is a bit slower than others like phpbb2. Yes,it has many features. however, most of them are useless and it has too many things to download.

carnt tere be doo somthing with forum so its load faster?

You could try using the the gif images, The settings are located in the Newbb Admin - Module settings. And disable the PNG hack. It may load faster for you then.
