I just downloaded and installed XOOPS on SME Server 6.0.1 (RH 7.3). I installed the xoopsBB forum from the control panel. I added two categories and three forums for each category. All the forums show up in one category and the second category is nowhere to be found.

So, I tried to reassign the category by editing each forum. No joy, and no error messages either.

Do I have to delete everything and start over?

The problem turned out to be grants in mysql. I turned on debug mode in XOOPS and it reported that update was not allowed. I made the necessary adjustments and all is well.

Being a newbie can be sooooo annoying...
