What does the store username in a cookie option in the user edit profile page do?

Also I have been asked by a user why he gets logged off after a certain time... has this option something to do with that?

Nulla

Re: Store Username in a cookie

When you store the username in a cookie that field can automatically be filled in when loading the site.

Logging off after a certain time is a security feature of Xoops. If you want it to automatically log your users on use the Auto-Login Hack by GIJOE.
