I have started a new position with a company that solely uses Oracle for it's database(s). I have tried and tried and tried and cannot convince executives to add MySQL to the DB standards. The main argument I have is that a windows user has to have a 264MB Oracle 9.x client installed on the local machine just to use a website that pulls from an Oracle DB.

If there are any arguments that anyone can suggest...Oracle vs. MySQL, please respond so that I may write up a collaborative proposal.

If all fails...how can I get XOOPS to work with an Oracle DB?

Hmmm ...

That doesn't sound right. The backend for a web site is transparent to the browsing client. The client and server communicate with HTTP. Whether the web site is using MySQL, Oracle or flat files shouldn't make any difference.
