Hi,

I am developing a site with two separate servers, one for the site and one for the content. My goal is to have a few select non-techie people use Contribute 3 to upload their content to the content server, then have the site server pull from there. This is to keep newbees as far away as possible from the site server and lessen the site server's load.

Does anyone know of a module that is able to point to UNC paths currently?

Thanks.

Doh! Just answered this on my forum . Short answer is no module (as yet) supports the use of UNC pathing/linking. The vast majority of XOOPS users are *nix based for which Windows specific UNC pathing is of little to no use to. Adding to that is UNC paths are only good for use in an Intranet environment which further lessens the use of UNC pathing. As I said on my forum, it is planned for inclusion in AMS, but it won't be appearing anything soon.

If you are using IIS as your webserver you can map virtual directorys to UNC paths, so that might be a wayof getting around the problem in the short term.
