I am using a modified version of XCgallery on a site. The Gallery is modified to be used as a classifieds display rather than a gallery.

However, I need to produce a hack which will limit users to a certain number of uploads defined in the user group that they belong to.

I know very very little PHP, but I understand it to a degree. Xcgallery has a disk quota option which can be set in the Admin panel. Can we hack this option to limit the number of uploads rather than the amount of disk space to be used? Or even better can we easily define the new function and database entry?

With a little guidance I'm sure I can figure it out. I'm still trying to learn some of the basics of PHP although I understand some of the structure.
