What's wrong here? I get this when I go to "check database" while installing xoops.

Parse error: parse error, unexpected '{', expecting '(' in /home/httpd/vhosts/e-z-hosting.net/subdomains/blah/httpdocs/class/database/databasefactory.php on line 20

Another problem I'm having is that at the "Choose language to be used for the installation process" screen I only get to choose "array" what is that?,.

Sounds like corrupted files to me - try re-uploading the package.

I reuploaded them twice already. I got hit with the never ending insanity worm wiped just out everything.

What does the code in your class/database/databasefactory.php look like?
