i hava a problem with templates that i'm using on my site

i'm using CATADS module and i made some fixes and changes on the templates files (.html files) of this module.
When i upload the new html file and overwrite the old one everything is OK. But i cannot show my changes in my page.
The only way to show the changes is the update of the catads module. But this is not the correct way cause everytime i make the update of the module i'm loosing critical data for my dbase.

is there any other way to upload my new template file?
