Hi,

I am pretty new to XOOPs. So far I am impressed. Now I've got my first question, where the default options do not seem to provide a solution:

I want to configure the look and feel of this XOOPs powererd site:
netOffice

I already adjusted some styles. But the final layout should look more than this mock-up:

There are two things necessary:

1. Displaying the top 10 News COMPLETY in Home with a Link to the archive at the bottom. The news-Item in the mainmenu is not necessary, since this is already provided by "Home".

2. Changing the Center-Blocks HTML-Definition from to ...

Any help appreciate.

(1)
(a) set news to appear in home in sys admin->general settings
(b) set news preferences to show 10 topics on front page
(c) news link in main menu::appears automaticly, as it goes trough the list of instaled modules;
-> create your own menu (might want to use multimenu for that one) would be an option to avoid the extra menu entry;


(2)
(a) go into sys admin->template manager
(b) clone templates
(c) in cloned set of templates, make changes accordingly

there are often different ways to achieve things. this is one way. hope it helps....nice project you got going...wouldn't mind seeing a XOOPS module of it .... claiming such would have gotten you a quicker answer, as your questions have been answered multiple times in the forums...

Thanks for the help. I thought to already set up news to show on the front-page. But they only showed up as links. I will have to play around...

sorry for multiple posts. I checked the FAQ, but it wasn't working. I also searched the forums some quiet a while but couldn't find a related topic.
