Can notification been forwarded to SMTP mail?

Is there a possibility to forward XOOPS Mail notifications (for example when there is a treat to a item in the forums, added pictures etc) to a SMTP account? Now they go to the XOOPS inbox and I would like to have that changed. Thanks for your help!!
