I have searched on all English sites and did not find any module can provide Web link exchange setup and verification process, this should be an extention from the "Link" module.

Any new plans for it?

I was just thinking the same thing and was about to post it my self

Having a site that is mainly about linking spirituality and any religion

I would like to link to all XOOPS sites on the subject

so if anyone could provide away of collecting links of other sites

This would then make XOOPS become one of the largest link directories on the web

There is tons of XOOPS sites each with tons of links that have been manuel added

If we could link them XOOPS would become its own web ring and directory

What's wrong with the partners module?

I don't seem to grasp what you are exactly looking for. Could you explain a bit more?

You could use the partners if you just wanted to link to each other

What i meant is that each XOOPS site has a link's directory and would it be possible to feed one sites links to another

So that as one sites links directory increased the collective would increase

It would be possible. You just need each XOOPS site to have their link collection output RSS feeds. Your site then reads the feed, compares it with its DB, and adds missing ones, automated by a script (reads the feed every 24h, at a low traffic time).

You should just need to get peoples to set it up, and write the scripts

I am thinking differently.

I am interested linking to any website that is within my subject matter. I have done some web link exchange myself using the "custom Block" on my site. Take a look:http://creforum.net
At the bottom of the front page, I have put all web link exchange URLs and icons there. These are the web exchage sites I have visited and have submitted exchange requests with them. The process usually goes like this:

1. A visitor comes to your site.
2. Click on link exchange request.
3. Submit a link site.
4. At the end of submission the visitor receives a html or selection of html tobe included on their web site. the visitor can copy the html code.
5. The visitor insert the code into their web page.
6. The exchange originator site sends a web crawer to the visitor site to verify their codes have been implemented.
7. The visitor site is inserted to the exchange site list of links after the verification is done.
8. other than that, there might be email notifications......
